LA & SF Specialty founded One Percent to End Hunger, an organization established to create awareness, educate, and offer ways to contribute to end hunger.
In the summer of 2012, we launched our Chefs to End Hunger Program as part of One Percent to End Hunger. Chefs to End Hunger is up and running and gaining momentum! The program is about empowering chefs to easily and efficiently use the resources already at their disposal to redistribute the excess prepared food that would normally go to waste in hotels, restaurants, and other foodservice operations to local food agencies to serve the meals.
In addition to donating food from their kitchens, a number of participating chefs have volunteered to prep and serve lunch at The Midnight Mission (currently the primary recipient of Chefs to End Hunger donations in L.A.) on Los Angeles's Skid Row.
Thank you to all our contributing chefs!
